Once you've received your Child Trust Fund (CTF) voucher you may need to complete an application form when you open a CTF account (or answer the questions on the form over the phone if you open an account that way). If you are not already a customer with that provider it is also possible that you will be asked to prove who you are. Producing a valid passport, driving licence or utility bill is often all that is required.
There's no need for you to go through a credit check to set up the account because it belongs to your child, not you.
